Unfortunately lady luck was in Tom Stoke’s corner on Friday evening, as a decision that could have and perhaps should have gone Jack Kavanagh’s way, didn’t.

After three rounds of top class boxing, the title was anyone’s, many from Swinford believed that Jack’s time had come, but it wasn’t to be and Jack must “live to fight another day” and start a new plot to take the title.

The effort from Jack and indeed all at the club this year cannot be faulted, Jack did everything that was asked for him, and that’s what makes the Irish title and indeed boxing special.

No rest for the wicked though, as after a short rest it will be time to start preparations once again.
