This weekend sees Aoife Hennigan set out on the journey to defend the U18 National title which she won last year. Having come through rehabilitation after injury in last year’s European Championships in Poland, Aoife made her comeback last october for Ireland in Germany. Since that time everyone has pulled out all the stops to ensure top condition for tomorrow’s action.
An all but perfect preparation, has seen relentless training, tough sparring, and contests with some of Ireland’s top boxers. Despite 6 entries thus far in the Welterweight category including European Bronze medalist Sally Carrig from Ennis, confidence is high in the camp, and Aoife is in the type of form and shape that has seen her capture 4 All Ireland titles in the past three years.
