Thanks for everyone who has signed up for the club’s White Collar fundraiser. Our promise is that you will all finish your 6 weeks with us glad you took part.

Our first training session will take place next Friday evening @ 8pm in the Conway Gym & Fitness centre. Nothing too strenuous to begin….

There are a couple of spots remaining for anyone who wants to bring a friend, or for anyone else who wishes to participate.

See ye on Friday…..

Lady luck not in Jack’s corner

Unfortunately lady luck was in Tom Stoke’s corner on Friday evening, as a decision that could have and perhaps should have gone Jack Kavanagh’s way, didn’t.

After three rounds of top class boxing, the title was anyone’s, many from Swinford believed that Jack’s time had come, but it wasn’t to be and Jack must “live to fight another day” and start a new plot to take the title.

The effort from Jack and indeed all at the club this year cannot be faulted, Jack did everything that was asked for him, and that’s what makes the Irish title and indeed boxing special.

No rest for the wicked though, as after a short rest it will be time to start preparations once again.

Date with Destiny for Jack Kavanagh

Tomorrow evening at 6pm in the National Stadium, Dublin, Jack Kavanagh will take to the ring for the final leg of his bid to become National Cadet Champion 2013.

After 3 years going to the well, Jack believes that this will finally be his time. The mood was good at the Conway Gym & Fitness Centre tonight as final preparations were completed. It’ over to Jack now, and no better man to do it!

The club wishes Jack the very best, after the work which he has put in this year and so many close shaves, we hope that lady luck will finally be in his corner!
